Technique-wise, I don't know a whole lot mate. You're spot on with the history and, as you say, it's descended from Mitose's teachings. As a result, from what I've seen, it looks a lot like the other American schools of kenpo with very short, direct, quickfire attacks. I'd say it's pretty effective as it seems to concentrate on CQB hand attacks and low-line kicks. Are you thinking of taking it up?
