Default A bit random, but, thought i'd check...

Does anyone know of anywhere where you can get jujube's (AKA red/chinese dates)?

I came across them amongst a mix of sticky rice, wild rice and pulses, and rather fell for them! The thing is, the Asian shop where i got the mix from doesn't sell them, and i can't seem to find anything other than what look to be bulk suppliers who sell them on the internet. Hence, i wondered if anyone could help me out?

If not, i guess i shall just have to make the most of the couple that appear in the mixed pack thing i got them in originally.

That shop sounds a messy place if you fell over with all that rice & stuff on the floor. Don't they ever sweep up?

If you have any Chinese stores near you, they will have them. It is possible to get them via mail-order, but only from companies based in the USA & east Asia.

HA HA, thats' funny cuz I'm eating chinese dates right now. They come in different flavours, colours and textures. You would most likely find them @ Chinese groceries. Here in Toronto we have China towns where you can get them, if you have something like that where you're from that's the most logical place to get them

TTT, they aren't the things Those are sweets, not dates/berries. Thanks anyhow.

lol. That is quite amusing BP. No, i don't have any Chinese stores/groceries (the closest thing is that Asian shop, i mentioned) here. Otherwise i would have checked them out, nor do i think we have any West Indian/Carribean stores.

Huh? I said 'fell for' not 'fell over'. And, i never said anything about them being on the floor.

I know what the difference is. But who gives a shit when you can get jujubes by the crate? I love gummy confections and other gelatin products.

Personally, I prefer Hershey's DOTS. However, I don't like that it takes me forever to get them unstuck from my teeth resulting in my mouth looking like a friggin' Jamaican Christmas tree...

I just did a search for them...are they some sort of chocolate? That's the closest thing that immediately came up.
