| Me too mate, I cannot wait to see this. I was a big fan of the Frank Miller comic book, so I was feeling a little nervous about this, but, having seen the trailer it looks like Hollywood has done as good a job of adapting it as they did with Sin City, maybe better.

| On SIN CITY, Frank was so upfront and demanding with Robert Rodriguez about staying faithful to the comic that at one point, Miller himself wanted to change something and Rodriguez was all "now Frank, I thought we were going to keep this as close as possible to what you've done." So supposedly Frank Miller ran off and came back a couple minutes later with some stuff sketched on scrap paper and said "There! I changed it!" | | | | Super Moderator Black Belt 5th Dan

Im VERY picky with fight scenes but this looks pretty good so far for a hollywood movie. Had my eye on it for months now.

| Funny story about 300 I got from Rob Cohen last night. As it turns out the script for 300 had been floating around Hollywood for a couple of years. After Troy ? and its terrible box office returns in the USA ? no one wanted to touch a sword and sandal epic. Then along comes Zack Snyder who says, ?Hey, I can shoot this entire movie on a sound stage for half the cost of an epic.? Then he got money. So the movie was shot on a sound stage with limited set props and no backdrops ? green scene chrome keying all the way ? and saved the studio tens of millions of dollars.
While we?re talking about movies, Cohen also mentioned that the next Mummy movie is set in 1940s China. Instead of Mummies coming to life, it?s going to be Terra Cotta Stone Soldiers! Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh are starring with Cohen directing.

I kind of saw it as the "anti- Last Samurai". I liked Last Samurai, but it annoyed me that it seemed to be saying that things like honour and duty where characteristics peculiar to the Japanese (Japanese have been telling me things like that for years; I don't buy it from them and I don't buy it from Hollywood).
When Troy came out a few months later, I felt it kind of set the record straight: Hector's duty to Troy, Achilles' duty to his family, Paris' shame for failing to "die well", Achilles affording Hector's corpse the proper respect after Priam's rebuking; it's all great stuff. Plus I thought the fight choreography in Troy was way better than Samurai!
