| Obscure/ Unknown News thread Inspired by another member I think this might be a good idea for a thread.
Just post news articles from around the world that might never catch mainstream media attention. They can be serious issues or bizarre and humourous happenings. Heres two from me for starters:
'Pay or be fondled!' http://www.jamaica-star.com/thestar/...ews/news1.html
'74 killed in Ethiopia' http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/africa....ap/index.html

| Thanks Des, I knew you would bite! Hopefully this can become an informative and lively thread!
....actually, being as it is my thread I am creating a new rule. No replies without at least one fresh news link of some kind!

| I find it difficult to find newsworthy news. Most stuff that sees print is either useless information or blown way out of proportion. Often, both. A huge deal was made in the sports page today because Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn was picked 22nd overall (maybe 23rd, I didn't care THAT much) when all the analysts were saying he could be the first NFL draft pick this year. What's the story? What information did I, Joe Blow, actually gain from that article? Sports analysts can be wrong? Whoopie friggin doo. Anyways: http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...5ns&refer=home Turkish lira loses value because Army does what armies do.
