Default Trying to begin my training

Hey guys,
I'm new to this forum so I'd like to introduce myself my name is David, I'm from new york, and I'ma college student who's looking ot start training.
I was wondering if anyone here had any suggestions for me as to where is a good place to train. I wanna start offf with Boxing or Muay Thai, I live in the Bronx so any good schools you know of here would be helpful.

I doubt there would be a shortage of good boxing gyms in the Bronx, of all places

Why not try looking up a national registry of boxing coaches? That might help you narrow your search down a bit.

What is your ultimate goal in training? To be a boxer, MMA fighter, self defense?

Well fitness and self-defense is my goal first and foremost,

The best thing to do is use google, type in any combo of bronx/boxing/muaythai etc. This way you can not only find the websites if they have one, you can get yellow page listings, stories about the gyms themselves, etc. Its great to research. I'd honestly start with a phonebook though, and then research the gym before heading in.
