This video was designed to help people frustrated with their rate of grappling progress. If you have ever felt that your workouts could be more productive, but didn't know how to do it, then Grappling Drills is part of the solution.

Grappling movements can be complex and difficult. Grappling requires you to use every part of your body, but often your limbs are actually doing different things: your foot might be stepping, one hand pushing, the other hand pulling, your body twisting, all at the same time. This can make even fundamental techniques like escapes, submissions, and guard passes tricky to learn.

Mastery of complex movements requires repetition. The exercises in Grappling Drills make it easy get the repetition you need. Use this DVD and before you know it you will have executed hundreds of repetitions of the most critical and important grappling techniques.

Grappling Drills Contains 83 Drills in 5 Sections:

VOLUME 1 - Introduction

VOLUME 2 - Lateral Hip Movement - how many times have you heard the phrase "move your hips" in BJJ? Side-to-side hip movement is critical for guard work and escaping bad positions. These are the best drills to develop exactly that type of movement

VOLUME 3 - Bridging and Sprawling - forwards and backwards hip movement is just as important as lateral hip movement, but is often overlooked. Turbo-charge your escapes, submissions and throws by making your bridging and sprawling powerful and instinctive

VOLUME 4 - Guard Development - the guard is the most complicated position in all of grappling. The drills in this section can make instinctive movements that advanced guard players do instinctively.

VOLUME 5 - Submission Development - submissions are the most exciting aspect of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Submission Grappling and Mixed Martial Arts, but they require repetition just like all other techniques. Here are methods to make repetition fun and easy.

VOLUME 6 - Other Drills - this section includes drills to improve guard passing, scrambling, mobility on the mats and more.

SWEEEEETTT!!!!! undercard for free!!! I love this channel! Might just get the PPV to help support healthy competition.

The Fight Network lands exclusive deal in Canada with historic Affliction Banned event
TORONTO, June 21 /CNW/ - The Fight Network's President and CEO George
Burger announced today that it has secured the exclusive rights to air the
live star-studded, one-hour undercard for July 19th's Affliction Banned
Pay-Per-View event on its Network.
Mr. Burger made the announcement at a packed news conference at Toronto's
MMA Expo, alongside Tom Atencio, Affliction's Vice President; Fight Network
Senior Vice President, Strategy and founder Mike Garrow; and two MMA
superstars: Andrei "The Pitbull" Arlovksi and "Big" Ben Rothwell who will face
each other on Pay-Per-View.
"This is a stellar card, arguably the best collection of heavyweights
under one roof in the history of MMA. The Fight Network is excited to be
working side by side with Affliction in taking the launch of this promotion
worldwide," said Mr. Burger. "Not only are we showing the undercard live and
exclusively on our Network, a great lead-in to the Pay-Per-View event, but we
are also distributing the Pay-Per-View in Canada, Australia, the United States
and the United Kingdom."
The 60-minute broadcast on the Fight Network will air in Canada at 8 pm
ET/5 pm PT, and is expected to feature at least two of the five scheduled
preliminary bouts, including a heavyweight clash between former UFC
heavyweight title challenger Paul Buentello and Aleksander Emelianenko. The
pay-per-view broadcast will follow starting at 9 pm ET.
"With this card, Affliction vaults into the front ranks of what is the
fastest growing sport in the world," said Mr. Atencio. "We have a long
relationship with The Fight Network and are pleased to share this momentous
event with them."
Affliction Banned is the monster mixed-martial-arts promotion presented
by Affliction, the premier fashion label for men who love hard rock and fast
living, in association with Roy Englebrecht Events. Earlier this month, Donald
Trump announced his involvement and partnership with the promotion. The main
event features the return of Russian combat fighting icon Fedor "The Last
Emperor" Emelianenko against former two-time UFC(R) heavyweight title-holder
Tim "The Maine-iac" Sylvia at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Mr. Burger also announced that The Fight Network's on-air MMA experts
Mauro Ranallo and legendary MMA pioneer and Fight Network analyst "Big" John
McCarthy will be calling the action for this worldwide event.
Along with the Emelianenko-Sylvia match-up, former UFC heavyweight
champion Josh Barnett will take on Pedro Rizzo in a rematch of their February
2001 bout, Team Quest founder Matt Lindland will return to action against
Fabio "Negao" Nascimento, and UFC veterans Renato "Babalu" Sobral and Mike
Whitehead will collide as well.

Closing the distance in an MMA or street fight is a vital skill for a grappling martial artist. If you are dealing with a good striker in a mixed martial arts fight, and you need to bring them into your world, you need to train to close the distance. If you are a bouncer or fight yourself in a street fight scenario, training to closing the distance is necessary to keep from getting hit and quickly ending the fight. These concepts and training methods will teach you how to close the distance in MMA or any street fight scenario. Training concepts and routines for closing the distance in a MMA Fight or Street Fight. These pages are from the fighters notebook, featured on MixedMartialArts.com (http://MixedMartialArts.com)

relaxed, easy fashion. When you are completely comfortable with the basics, don boxing headgear and a mouthpiece a nd put 16o z, boxing gloves on a training partner, Begin having your partner throw light punches at your hairline It is crucial that you bite down on your mouthpieceaos you close, A loose jaw can easily be injured. Image: http://www.martialfighter.com/articles/mma-close-distance-advanced.jpg Advanced closing drills require a training partner wearing Punch/Spar Mitts and a chest protector. You try to close on your partner, he sprawls or throws punches at you. You instantly back out The knowledge of how to close is useless without training. With a great deal of training it is one the most important, effective aspects of your game, The page spread below shows some good training routines. Image: http://www.martialfighter.com/articles/mma-training-drills-1.jpg The headgear will protect you ond make it easier for your partner to catch you, thus forcing you to use perfect technioue. Eventually you should be able to close on your partner when he is throwing his hardest strikes, Finally you should be able to close on o wide variety of individuals Image: http://www.martialfighter.com/articles/mma-training-drills-2.jpg ...throw punches of your own into his chest protector ond focus gloves, Then you shoot again He can also try to shoot on you, forcing you to work the defensive aspect of your game.... *View the reminder of the article on MartialFighter.com Blog* (http://www.martialfighter.com/combat-martial-arts/%postname%/341)

With a great deal of training it is one the most important, effective aspects of your game, The page spread below shows some good training routines. The headgear will protect you ond make it easier for your partner to catch you, thus forcing you to use perfect technioue. Eventually you should be able to close on your partner when he is throwing his hardest strikes, Finally you should be able to close on o wide variety of individuals ...throw punches of your own into his chest protector ond focus gloves, Then you shoot again He can also try to shoot on you, forcing you to work the defensive aspect of your game.... View the reminder of the article on MartialFighter.com Blog

Looking real big! This is great news IMO and I hope Affliction really takes it to the UFC (and am sure they will). If you havent heard...

"Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski will be announced as Affliction's latest acquisition during tomorrow's press conference in New York City, according to a report from MMARated.com.

Additionally, Donald Trump will be introduced as a new equity partner in the fight promotion, according to an executive in the Trump organization that was quoted in the report.

As MMAjunkie.com reported earlier today, Affliction and Trump have scheduled a press conference for tomorrow in New York City.

According to the website, Executive Vice President of The Trump organization and the Special Counsel to Donald J. Trump, Michael D. Cohen, has confirmed that Trump will introduce Arlovski as the fight promotion's latest acquisition.

Arlovski will fight Ben Rothwell at Affliction's debut event, which takes place July 19 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. Fedor Emelianenko meets Tim Sylvia in the night's main event.

Arlovski (12-5 MMA, 10-4 UFC), a Chicago-based fighter, reigned as the UFC's heavyweight title-holder from February 2005 to April 2006. Since losing a July 2006 title fight to then-champ Tim Sylvia, Arlovski's has pieced together three consecutive victories. Arlovski fulfilled the fight commitment of his previous UFC contract when he defeated Jake O'Brien at UFC 82 in March, and the UFC lost its exclusive rights to negotiate with the Belarusian fighter on May 1."

Strikeforce middleweight champion Frank Shamrock fought San Shou star Cung Lee in an amazing MMA Fight on Saturday.

Frank promised to stand with Cung Lee and beat him on his feet. Shamrock remained true to part of his promise.
