| Put your arms around your head like a tight boxing guard. You can even try the crazy monkey or whatever it's called from the JKD guys. I believe the crazy monkey is where you place your hands on the top of your head with your elbows close together in front of your face, but more JKD-wise people can correct me on that.
When you do this, the attacker is just hitting your arms which might sting but it isn't going to hurt or leave embarassing bruises like getting slugged in the face. So, you've effectively neutralized the attack.
If you feel compelled to attack back, which may or may not be advisable due to society's stigma against violence, the best way would be to kick or knee the attacker in the chest. Not to insult your intelligence, but just to assume that somebody who might read this has no idea what we're talking about, the kick should come out with a motion similar to pedaling a bike. Bring the knee up about as high as you can and push out with the ball of the foot being your point of contact in the attacker's stomach or chest. If the attacker is too close for such a kick, you should instead just lift your knee like you were setting up for the kick but doing so with as much force as possible and making the knee strike the attacker in the stomach or chest.
You should back him (I'm assuming it's a him because I'm a rampant misogynist and don't think that females are as likely to engage in physical violence) up with the knee or kick and get him to stop swinging for long enough where you can punch him back, kick him again, etc.

| Use meditation and/or chi!!!
First move back few steps.
Than focus on your breathing and try using meditation to call for spirits of ancient senseis and ask them what to do. If they dont answer to you focus on your breathing again.
Put all chi in your navel area, than move it on your back and move it down for 20-25cm. Down there you chi will explode.
In same time when your chi explode you have to grab guys flying fist with your fist and move all you chi to your fist.
When all your chi is in your fist just crush his fist.

| The methods you employ are up to you, but the essiantials are these:
You must be able to absorb the attack (should be easy since you already know how he's attacking you), keep your bearings (don't freak out), and overwhelm him with a counter-attack when the opportunity affords itself to you.
You need to shell up in a nice tight cover so you don't get ktfo'd by his attacks. Keep your wits about you, the last thing you want to do is freak out and do something stupid like turning your back to him. You need to turn the tide of the fight in your favor. He may give you the opportunity to do this if he stops swinging momentarily for whatever reason. More likely however you are going to have to create this opportunity for yourself. A few seconds into the fight you should have picked up on his timing. Hit him on his half-beat. Doesn't have to be a knockout punch, just enough to break his momentum and let you go on the offensive. Then it's just a matter of be aggressive and very very violent. | | | | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 1970 Posts: 5,449

| Move out of the way...hes not even looking at you but striking wildly hoping to make contact.
Then either get out of there or do whatever the situation and your training dictates.
To me, this is a gift attack and also one of the most dangerous since a "trained" response cannot be had. We practice "untrained" arms flying, head down charging attacks at our dojo to get a feel for the energy and intent of a strong attack without focus, its great practice.

We can teach him to be the next Peter North!
