Personally, I could care less as I hate professional sports. I have a BIG problem with shelling out a grocery bill to go and watch some prima donna fucknut who makes more money than you or I will ever make in a lifetime and still bitches and whines that he's not making enough money to "support his family". Shit, I'd be happy as hell with the league minimum and I'll make damn sure your seat is nice and warm when you come off the field! Professional ball players are nothing but little bitches in nice uniforms...

| I am a sports fan, but I know exactly what you mean. Don't get me started on Chelsea!

| The site is quite vague indeed. From what I could gleen from it, Ty-ga comes across as a child of Wing Chun and Kyokyshin. I have never heard of this style, this solely based on what I read on the website you posted. | | | | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 1970 Posts: 583

| Ty Ga karate in this country is a system devised by Sensei Gary Wasniewski 10th dan. He's been training in "various systems" since 1970. His style is weighted between Wado-Ryu & Lau Gar kung fu (the style practised here), but there is no doubting his personal ability. He's an exceptionally good kicker. | | | | Super Moderator Black Belt 5th Dan

| 10th dan? Cough Cough http://www.ty-ga.co.uk/images/sokeship.gif World head of family sokeship council cough , cough
It looked interesting until I read the tournement rules. I have to assume that indojo sparring would have to be in line with the level of contact approved by the head of the organisation.
Download the PDF and read it, interesting stuff.

| Of course he made himself a 10th dan. Why not? If Gene LeBell can be a 13th dan, the field's open for anyone. | | | | Super Moderator Black Belt 5th Dan

| How many can claim to be of the same level of Gene Labell? As well, I've never seen mr. Labell advertise or use this status for anything.
I'll even go so far as to say its a joke. | | | | Senior Member Black Belt 2nd Dan Join Date: Jan 1970 Posts: 1,453

| To be fair to the man, Gene LeBell didn't claim the 13th dan, he was given it at a benefit held in his honour last year. That said, he didn't refuse the honour.
Although I've never met the man or seen him in action outside of the stunt work he's done on TV & in movies, I've read enough articles & reviews in the martial arts press to appreciate that he has been & remains a remakably talented person, & if he wants to be a 13th dan I've certainly nothing against him being that. | | | | Senior Member Black Belt 5th Dan Join Date: Jan 1970 Posts: 2,908

That's why I said it was pathetic, because only a few would get it.
