Default jkd question

I've been interested in learning jkd, but no schools nor teachers were found close by . Is it posible to learn by book? if so,which book? suggestions?. By the way, I found a Kajukendo organization, is this style efficient?

Goku600 - Dude, listen close becuase I'm only going to say this once...

JKD is a PHILOSOPHY written by Bruce Lee. You CANNOT learn it from a book. You can read what Bruce wrote about it in his book, "Tao of Jeet Kune Do". You can buy it at any bookstore for @ $15.00. It's a good book, but a long read.

In a nutshell, the philosophy states that you should learn everything you can from all forms of combat, take what is applicable for you and what works for you and throw away the rest.

I would suggest that you read the book first and then form your conclusion as to what you should do about trying to learn JKD and/or applying it...

Where are you located Goku? You wouldn't happen to be anywhere near the Seattle area, or the Oakland area?

I've never practiced kajukenbo, but, from what I've seen of it, it's a solid, efficient style. If that was my only option, I'd be quite happy to train in it.

I thought the Bo stood for Chinese boxing, like as in some kind of Kung Fu.

It seems to depend on what article you read.
