Default jkd on the street

have you ever had chance to use it? if so did you find it easy?

ive had plenty of oppotunaties to use it. and as i said earlier its good its an all round style as some times it may be striking and ten your in te clinch (which has happened) or your faced with your back against a wall and you need to strike then grapple. also i find that if your attacked you ca always fall on your training i regards to the canging postion and speed of the fight.

what have you encountered and what worked for you?

I think your over thinking jkd in a street fight just punch and kick when you have too .And do what you have to do when grappling. If you train well your moves will come out on there own.<dont take the comment the wrong way>

i think you miss read what i was saying.

you've just a greed with what i said. jkd on the street helps you as it fluidly covers the different areas of combat. you said you kick and punch when you have to and do what you have to do in grappling. well thats what i was saying and you just repeated it.

jkd is some times called scientific street fighting. i think that is true as its not a "style" that is drowned in kata and things like that. its always to the point and the constant drill of the basics keeps it realistic.

what do you mean what kind? sorry friend there is only one kind. it helps you personalise your own "style" if thats what you mean. my jkd school is in manchester england, its called steve powell's jeet kune do academy. its from the the los angeles line. here see the site just copy and paste it to your adress bar:

www.jeet-kune-do.info

thats the address for the site of the school im apart of. my teacher steve is amazing. he really shows you how to use you body and is the best teacher, fighter and martial artist ive ever met. check it out. he turns people off the street in to fighting machines. check this out its a quote from another top guy karl tanswell from the same building as my school just next door.

Okay, thank's for the link's, I'll check them out.

What I meant was that, even if there's only one JKD in your point of view, there are different approaches, like Jun Fan "original" JKD, JKD Concepts, Functional JKD and so on.. So, what I was wondering was which JKD-"ideology" you train in?

cheers
