It's difficult for anyone to say for sure but, yes, it's likely that taekkyon was highly influenced by Chinese martial arts since the few indigenous Korean arts there are all seem to trace their roots back to China.

If you're searching for more info on the Net, be very careful. Taekkyon has a whole lot of crap written about it by Korean nationalists and those who unwittingly believe them. Many (most?) will tell you that it is the unarmed style of the hwarang or that it is based on such a system. There is no evidence for this. Taekkyon is only traceable back to the 17th century and, until recently, was largely a lower class pursuit, a back-alley game played by rather unsavoury sorts.

The way they move their bodies looks rather unusual (well, by that i mean that i don't recall seeing it before.lol. Doesn't neccesarily mean it's unusual in any perspective). They appear to move their hips more than most that i've noticed when they're sort of 'standing off', ie no techniques being completed.
