I suspect he was hoping for a recommendation towards a particular club. It can be very disappointing to join a club & find it's not all you expected it to be. However it would be even more disappointing if anyone stayed with a club they didn't like. The only recommendation I would make to him is to echo what everyone else has said, get out there & find one you like.
