I would probably say something similar to the size of a police baton (tonfa?). Escrima sticks are great but as far as every day function goes I would think a smaller stick would be easier to manuever and carry/conceal.

So probably something about 12"-16" long.

I agree, Escrima sticks are too long. 16" would be exelent. Its not easi to carry Escrima stick on the street so that noone cant see it.

If I were to use a stick in a fight with someone, it would probably be as a grappling bar (I think that would probably put me in a much better place legally), so the size doesn't really matter unless it's so huge as to be awkward. I'd say about the size of one nunchaku handle is perfect.

almost any size a stick you can find. wether it be a tree branch or broom stick. What ever you can find. I personally like the size of stick in the Nunchaku.

yeah, arnis sticks are too large but its ok here in the Philippines...
maybe a 7-8 inch stick that would be used like a daga(knife) is also possible.
anyone for a size of a folding unmbrella? its rather easy to conceal and is also effective, I think.
