Who has actually had to use their martial arts skills?
Who has actually had to use their martial arts skills outside of the dojo???
What I mean is, who has actually had to defend themselves with martial arts, and to what degree??
I tossed and got mount on a guy at a party this summer... He grabbed me around the waist from behind with intentions unknown, and I reacted pretty instinctually. No one was hurt, except quite possibly his ego.

I have used what ive learnt a couple of times, as far as the fence goes its a one of a kind for anyone considering succesfully defending themselves in the street. Im sure ive went over this in another thread I think, deja vu perhaps?
Fighting is nothing like what you do in the dojo/gym, thanks to our friend adrenaline you dont really tend to remember too much, for me, most of the time its been a case of hit and run for safety and the odd scrap.
Nothing magical like a jet li movie, a couple of punches thrown and landed maybe went to the ground for a few seconds, one of us gets up and kicks the other guy and then its either broken up or someone runs off
