Default re: Using MT in a street fight?

I would hazard a guess that there is no one thing that will help EVERYONE overcome the anxiety involved in a street fight, since everyone is different.

A few popular answers are:

1. To involve yourself in a lot of full contact sparring to up your confidence level. Get used to getting hit this way too.

2. Experience. Not that this is advisable, because you should be avoiding street fights if at all possible, but people who get in fights all the time are usually the least likely to freeze up.

3. Involve yourself in competition. The high stress environment of serious competition would help I'd imagine.

But basically, who knows what will help you? We're all different and we all do what we can to prepare for a street encounter and hope that if this happens we will be able to fall back on our training.

Get a job working the door in a rough area. You'll soon learn how to control these anxieties. Either that or you wont last very long
