| I love stereotypes! They are great! People expect one thing, then you give them something else and BAM! Down comes the axe! | | | | | | |

| As far as the french goes, I believe it started as sport among high class people. Besides, anything french is bad, wine, french fries, people, etc. JKing | | | | Senior Member Black Belt 3rd Dan Join Date: Jan 1970 Posts: 1,635

| Sorry Gazelle, but I've yet to meet a Frenchman who didn't act like a pompous, arrogant ass to everyone they came in contact with. Everyone I've ever met from France looked down their nose at everyone else as if they weren't shit. The funny thing is - if it weren't for the Americans and the Allied Forces, the French would all be speaking German right now!!!
VIVA LA FRENCH!!!
Assholes...

| Well, i suppose at least you have drawn it from some experience with them. I still hold, that you shouldn't make a judgement on them all just because of the majority though...or even, the minority that you have met.
Angryrocker4, is not the food considered good there? If i was not, why would we have french restaurants in different countries? Or, people going to Paris simply to dine there, or even famous French chefs (they seem to pop up in person and as well as just being named in cooking shows more than i have seen other nationality chefs, minus UK, of course, being as they are UK shows)? And i am positive that you will find other things that are good too about them/their country! | | | | Senior Member Black Belt 2nd Dan Join Date: Jan 1970 Posts: 1,454

| Man, you can be asking for trouble there! I've never tasted it, so i can't pass judgement, i will however ask, how the heck is that latter comment justified? If you have a good reason then fine, but...If i like something you don't, how does that make me stupid? Or are you refering to the people being stupid because they like something that is French? Many people like to learn the language, either for communication purposes, or just for the sake of it, does that make them 'stupid'? | | | | Member Join Date: Jan 1970 Posts: 69

At least when I go to Burger King I get the satisfaction of getting a burger, made my way, it fills me up and I don't have to break into my savings account paying for it!!!
"Oh, I'd like to order some crepes please."
What the fuck is a "crepe" supposed to be?!?!?! You can't drink a beer with a "crepe"!!! Give me a prime rib smothered with mushrooms, with a loaded baked potato, broccoli and corn on the cob any day of the week!!!

| Sadly, when I think of America, I think of "supersized" fries and excess when it comes to the "cuisine".
Having passed many in day in France when I lived overseas, all I can say is that I enjoyed the food, the people and culture greatly.
