Default Systema Class clips

Some good clips. Shows some sparring and good drills. Good at showing realistic systema.

Some aspects of the knife defence seem ok, but some drills where the defender grapples with the attacker has no awareness of the position of the knife, in one clip he blocks it and drives it into his own throat lol. The throwing items into the attackers face works well, but i prefer to throw in the upper chest/throat area as theres less chance of missing. The clip where the dude is using his forearm on the back of the blade has got to be the worst drill ever, he would get carved up against someone who knows knives.

I have only a brief experience in Systema so I do not know anything about there knife defense. Probaly have to ask someone why they attempt "unusal" defences.

Vladimir can hit shit hard
but I think systema is more talent based
if you cant get it through learning
then theirs no hope
but I heard its good shit
I just think some of the people suck at it
this is absolutely only my opinion though

The clips in MA dude's entry don't work anymore, so you can use this link if you want to view a range of Systema videos:-

Here are some other ones I found:
YouTube - systemadowntown's Videos

Systema SpetsNaz

No Contact Combat 3 - Vadim Starov

I just watched that clip and after seeing it, I still don't know about this style. I've always have my doubts or questions about it. Does anyone have real experience with this Russian Martial Art?

I have extremely limited contact with any systema but it seems to me that guys who train in it might sometimes be trying to apply the concepts out of context and continuing to do this this over time combined with losing interest in the basic skill has lead to 'mystic-chi-distruption-of-meridians-systema-do'!

Ive seen some good ideas for dealing with multiple attackers and other interesting situations but straight up dueling is a different matter with a different strategy focus IMHO.

The thing is different schools look like different arts. Some look like Vovchanchyn factories and others look like they practice Erotic tai chi! That last vid "No Contact Combat 3 - Vadim Starov" is a joke, I had to stop it after 10 seconds!

I agree. I remember getting into an arguement on the forums a while back with someone who trained in it and I just couldn't see the legitimacy of the art by what he was showing me. I agree that they have great "multiple attacker" situations but for the most part it doesn't seem too realistic.
