This is the basic burpee. Weve talked about these before and I think you might call them something else but I couldnt find the search function to find the threads...anyone know where the search function is nowadays? I know I'll need it soon.

To-flightp Indian kushti wrestlers (and presumably their modern counterparts who cross from the akhara to the mat) do thousands of hindu pushups and squats every day as a matter of course, and traditionally, they have to do them all at a shot. Interestingly, the've been observed to work themselves into trance states as they go - they are very explicit about their exercises being mental and spiritual training as well as physical, and it could well be this state that enables them to prevent or overcome fatigue. In addition, hindu squats and pushups, when done correctly and continuously, without pronounced pauses between repetitions, require more in the way of ballistic, proprioceptive coordination and breath control rather than brute force per se.

Old thread but I am bored.

We always called them squat thrusts also. That is a great exercise.

I do a short workout where I do the add 1 pushup per workout idea that was mentioned above. I do a set before each 3 minute round on the bag. I have gotten up to around 4 sets of 80 before I get off on some other routine again.

I started this back up a few days ago and I am at 16 pushups again. 300, man that would be a feat of strength.
