This Saturday I am supposed to fight a kid in my school in a MMA style fight.(Gloves and all) I like to fight, however this kid has about 50 pounds on me. He weighs 210 and stands at 5'8. I am 165 and stand at 6'1. He is stronger than me, but I am faster and have about a 4 inch reach advantage. Everyone in my school is pumped for the fight and is looking forward to it. What are some great tips that will help me win?

First, why is your school allowing a MMA fight where this is a 50lb difference in weight? I’m not sure that’s the best way to train… There are times where it’s good to work with and train with someone who is bigger then you, but you make it seem like an actual “fight”.
Overall – when fighting someone larger then you, the worst place to be in under him or having him “in” on you. They can use their size and strength to take you down easily, use their weight to keep you pinned to the ground and make it very hard for you to move and attack.
My suggestion, keep your distance, use your height and reach advantage to your advantage, also since he his very big for 5′8, he will probably tire quicker. Keep active and moving until he shows signs of tiring, then attack.
